A lot of us are on a journey to evolve by unlearning all of these unhelpful habits and mindsets imposed on us as children. Parents or caretakers are the first examples for children and they should be more aware of how their behavior is imitated unconsciously by the children around them.
I suggest you take some time to write down your own list of what you need to separate your body, mind, and soul from in order to elevate them towards your highest potential. You deserve joy and happiness so go on and give it to yourself.
