Self-care and productivity
Self-care and productivity should be friends. Don’t neglect self-care when you are trying to increase your productivity. Self-care is quite important for our well-being. In addition, when we are well we show up better in our daily lives and can tackle challenges recharged. Don’t neglect your sleep, eating well, hydrating, spending time outdoors, disconnecting from technology to connect deeper with others, exercising, etc.
Self-care will contribute a lot to your productivity. Make some time for it! Your idea of self-care will differ from others. Find what suits you, will replenish your energy, and put you in a good mood. You know how energized and joyful you feel when you’ve done something for yourself, that makes you happy, that recharges your battery, something just for you. You are less likely to get irritated easily.
Do you feel guilty taking some time for your self-care? Feel the guilt and throw it in the trash. It’s okay to feel guilty if you are not familiar with prioritizing your well-being. However, don’t let it stop you from doing something this vital. If you are really not comfortable or feel selfish making time for yourself, you could start small or with an activity that will take just a few minutes. For example, you could go for a 10-minute walk to get some fresh air or soak up the sun.
