What is the point of living this life full of pain?

Just some thoughts…triggered by heartbreak and grief.

This question popped up in my head while I was walking home from grocery shopping. I was thinking about my recent heartbreak and the suffering people (including me) endure because others are not honest with themselves, thus dishonest with others.

What led to that thought was the fact that many people work on themselves to be healthy human beings, while some just walk around spitting venom at them. This venom stems from a lack of emotional maturity, self-accountability, communication skills, and emotional intelligence, along with unprocessed emotional wounds or trauma.

What is the point of living in this world, where kind-hearted people get hurt by those who don’t give a damn about how their actions break others’ hearts? I am well aware that in some cases, people are responsible for breaking their own hearts. They choose to walk into or stay in situations even when the other person is honest about their shortcomings.

But daaaamn, why must good-hearted people be taken advantage of when they are genuinely loving people who just want to love and be loved? It’s unfair! Depending on the intensity of the damage done, some people may become bitter, cold-hearted, or traumatized to the point of becoming the ones who, in turn, inflict others with pain. And the cycle continues…I don’t think it will ever end, the fact that “hurt people hurt people”.

This is just part of the human experience. So, what can be done? Well, we can brace ourselves, process the pain, learn from the situation, and keep moving forward with self-care and kindness towards ourselves. We can also do our part to make this world less of a pain in the **s and improve our communication skills while learning to regulate our nervous systems to reduce the harm we inflict on others during interactions. I know it’s easier said than done, but IT IS DOABLE. Willingness and openness to learning are key. If each person in this world took responsibility for their actions and tried to minimize the harm they cause others, maybe the aggressiveness of this world could be reduced…just maybe.
