Turmeric is one of the key ingredients in many of my savory dishes. I also add it to my fresh veggie/fruit juices or into my smoothies. It’s a plant from the ginger family and contains the compound named curcumin, which is what makes turmeric such a powerful spice thanks to its numerous health benefits. I prefer consuming it fresh but I also use the organic powder version. In order to increase the absorption of curcumin, I consume black pepper with it (Yes, even in my juices or smoothies!)
